Sabrina Marie Devour Ayers the feisty protagonist of the Devour Family Saga is not your typical heroine: she’s a woman whose beauty, intelligence, and sharp tongue tend to get her into trouble. She’s turbulent, headstrong, and passionate and her angelic beauty is distinctly at odds with her tenacious personality. She has a great passion for life, but it's her vain and moody personality that keeps her from truly being happy. Is she worthy to combat the forces of darkness or is she just another Devour destined to befall the family curse?
My name is Sabrina and I avoid being ordinary. I have a hard time coping with my dark gift, the power of “clairvoyance”. I can actually see apparitions, ghosts, and demons; some would say I am a mediator for the dead; however, this deadly ability is growing stronger and more frightening as time goes on; for my family is deeply connected to a haunted house, and I must find a way to break my family curse.
You see, I strongly believe that what the haunted mansion rests upon is actually a gateway to hell. According to mythology, these are places of increased supernatural energy and are an area in which the barriers between dimensions are weak. And my family is under the spell of an ancient familial curse, one that dooms all the women to pain, loneliness, and madness.
It is true I hold special gifts besides being a clairvoyant. I’m what some would call a ghost huntress—someone given a special abilities that enables them to fight the supernatural in all its forms. A ghost huntress is a profession that involves freeing ghosts and cleansing haunted houses. They can also receive prophetic visions.
And I realize that the existence of supernatural forces and demons is scoffed by unbelievers yet challenged by people willing to fight against such forces, like myself.
I hate that there's evil, but because I am the thirteenth daughter born into the Devour family—it is my destiny…and my curse. I wish I hadn't been chosen. But this isn't about wishes. This is about choices. And I’ve made the choice to stay and fight and find a way to break the deadly spell cast over my family.
Come step into my world—if you dare...

In sits there, shrouded in mist and mystery, a nesting place for real evil.
